This question has been bubbling in my head for sometime now:
How can I use this next wave of technology coming to create something that helps people that either don’t want to know about it or are simply overwhelmed by it?
Then a second question came:
Since we don’t know the full consequences of this wave and what effects will have, which businesses are most likely to be recession proof?
Trades was the clear answer. Trades that have standard work around compliance standards which generate a considerable amount of repetitive work for the back office.
Then a third thought came up: it needs to be something good for everyone - people, company, contractors.
And so there it was: a service to help Australia’s trades to improve efficiency and let them focus on high value tasks.
Then the churn: how to name our business? We started as 2 friends bouncing ideas at each other, and my mate had the brilliant insight of calling it SecondDesk. And so it happened, SecondDesk was born!

PS.: my mate soon after decided not to get involved as he didn’t feel the entrepreneurial pull. All good, he’s still my informal advisor - thanks Taz!
